What these terms cover — and what they do not
These terms govern your use of this website, the client portal, and the payment and agreement-signing pages we send by email. By using any of them you accept them.
They are not the collection services agreement. If your company places accounts with Odue, the commercial terms between us — the commission rate, the ownership period, what happens when an account is withdrawn, how and when you are paid — are in the agreement your company signed. That agreement governs the service. Nothing on this page varies it, and where the two differ, the signed agreement wins. A signed agreement is readable, printable and downloadable at any time from the Documents section of the client portal.
The client portal
- Access is for a named person at a named company, keyed on their email address, and it reaches your company’s whole placed book. Your company’s primary contact adds and removes colleagues on the portal’s team page, and the change takes effect at once; we can grant or remove access too. A new company asking for an account is approved by us before anything opens.
- Your sign-in is yours. Do not share it. Tell us immediately if you think somebody else has it. When somebody leaves, your primary contact removes them on the team page, or you can ask us to.
- You see your own company’s accounts and nothing else. Do not attempt to reach any other company’s records, and do not use the portal to scrape, bulk-export beyond the exports we provide, probe, or test it.
- What you place must be yours to place, and accurate. You are responsible for the debt being genuinely owed, for the figures being right, and for telling us promptly when something changes — in particular when a debtor pays you directly. The portal has a one-click instruction for exactly that, and using it is how contact stops.
- You may add work, add context, hand us evidence and ask us for something. You cannot change a balance, a status or anything we have recorded: the contact timeline is the evidence of how the debt was collected, and a creditor editing it would destroy the value it exists to have.
Payment pages
- A payment link is addressed to the business named on it, and the link itself is the only credential it carries. Treat it as confidential and do not forward it to anybody who is not entitled to settle that balance.
- The amount shown is what is outstanding at the moment the page loads. Money you pay is applied to the invoices named on the page, oldest first. Paying part of a balance reduces it and does not settle it, and does not by itself create a payment plan.
- A payment plan exists only once a collector has confirmed it with you. Asking for one on the page is a request, and it does not pause anything on its own.
- If you think a demand is wrong, say so using the form on the page. A collector reads it before any further contact is made. Raising a dispute is not a payment, and a dispute that turns out to be mistaken does not change what is owed.
- Card payments are handled by our payment processor on their own page. We never receive your card number.
Acceptable use
Do not use any of our pages to break the law, to impersonate anybody, to interfere with how the service runs, or to get at data that is not yours. Do not upload anything containing malware. Our public pages are rate-limited; do not try to work around that. We may suspend access where any of this happens, and we will say why.
What is ours
The website, the portal, their design and the software behind them belong to Odue. You may use them for the purpose they are provided for. The records about your own accounts — your invoices, your documents, your figures — remain yours; our record of how we collected them is ours, and we keep it for the reasons set out in the privacy policy.
No legal or financial advice
Nothing on this website or in the portal is legal, tax or accounting advice. A recovery figure, an age profile or a status on a screen is a statement of what has happened on an account, not a prediction and not a recommendation. Decisions about litigation, write-off or credit are yours to take, with your own advisers.
Availability
We aim to keep these pages up and we do not guarantee that they always will be. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of them, and we carry out maintenance. The service itself does not stop because a page is briefly unavailable: if you cannot reach a payment page, the check and bank transfer details we publish stay valid, and you can always reach us by phone or email.
Limits
To the fullest extent the law allows, these pages are provided as they are, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for loss arising from your use of a figure on a screen without checking it against your own records. Where your company has a signed agreement with us, the liability provisions of that agreement apply to the service and take precedence over this clause. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes, and which law applies
When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the website or the portal after that is acceptance of the change.
Where your company has signed an agreement with Odue, that agreement’s governing law and dispute-resolution provisions apply to any dispute about these terms as well. Where there is no such agreement, any dispute is subject to the law of the jurisdiction in which Odue is established, and to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
Questions about these terms go to the address at the foot of this page. If your question is about an account rather than about this website, your collector will answer it faster.
